Big week

It's been a big week...
A trip to Geelong for some op shop therapy on Monday.
Knitting and sewing getting ready for week 3 of the Winter Artisans' Market at Northcote Town Hall.
Getting orders away for more scarves, and some other goodies, for I Dream a Highway, Ramona Tienda, and the Little Shop of Handmade.
But, tonight the old bloke and I are off on a date! The cinema is back at the Mechanic's Hall for the school holidays, and we're off to see the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
Oh, and we saw our first whale of the season down here on our morning walk! It's a time of year that's cold and wet and dreary, and along come the whales to make us feel special again.
Who says Winter is all bad?

Is it cold in North Melbourne?

I'm knitting, knitting, knitting, like a Nanna on too much coffee (or something stronger)!
Lots of warm and cosy neckscarves.
In great colours and soft wool.
Ramona tienda will have more scarves in the next day or two, once I get this parcel off in today's post.

Good Tuesday

This week is coming along very nicely!
The weather is too nice for words - I even had a swim this morning.
I had a great weekend in Melbourne, another great weather day on Sunday brought out the crowds for the Shirt & Skirt Market.
Pia and I ate Hot Cross Buns from the Convent Bakery - surely that's ok even if Easter is over?
Jacqui from Cottage Nerd is making me one of her sensational doily pocket denim skirts.
This new fabric arrived in the post for me today.
More scarves are winging their way to lovely Ramona tienda in North Melbourne.
A long weekend is coming up.
Counting my blessings!

I love North Melbourne...

The Lithuanian Club makes an incredible venue for the North Melbourne Market with the groovy 1970ish ballroom, lobby and upstairs rooms to explore.

There was a bit of a rush on to visit the vintage fabric stall where I splurged on a piece of '1930s hand screen printed citadel print'. This is going to be a skirt for me sometime soon...

A bit of market trade for a Frankie & Ray recycled jumper and cotton patchwork scarf, plus a little cash, meant I came home with these lovelies. Thank you Kerry, I love them.

And to top off a wonderful day, Ramona came to visit and I am very happy to say that Frankie & Ray handknit neckscarves will be in her beautiful little shop, Ramona Tienda, by the middle of this week.
