A little change of pace

Time to pop the kettle on, sit down and have a cuppa.
This Monday marks the end of the 'season' down here on the coast.
The last long weekend before Winter is over after today, and our little town slips into a slower gear.
There's time for a chat in the post office, lingering at the fruit shop, and catching up with the deli ladies at the supermarket.
Before we know it Winter will be here with it's usual freezing winds and pelting rain, but for now we're enjoying some sunshine and taking it a bit easy!
(And if you need a cosy for your pot, this one and some others will be going off to The Local Shop in tomorrow's post!)

The week that was

Friday already.
I think I may have to rename this 'The Tea Towel Blog'.
Here's one of the 6 new bags that have been posted off to The Local Shop. Big thanks to Mel for that one, isn't it fabulous? Great font, colours, artwork, linen. Everything that's good about a vintage tea towel!
I had a day off from the sewing machine today, but I did get around to some long neglected paperwork, and now I'm feeling very organised and on top of everything.
We're back off to Melbourne tomorrow, but this time it's for a couple of social things. It'll feel quite odd not to be at any market, but it won't be long until the last one for the year, Shirt & Skirt on December 20. Looking forward to a Christmas catch up with everyone there!

No rest for the wicked

I had some notion that I might be putting my feet up with a magazine this week. No such luck!
The Local Shop are in a tea towel frenzy and have ordered 10 cushions and 6 bags.
I finished the cushions yesterday afternoon, and they'll be off in a post satchel very soon. Bags will follow in a day or two.
Here are just 2 out of the batch that I was especially pleased with, if only you could feel them! They are pure linen, which makes them really, really nice to the touch.
Ah, that yellow wildflower one is my favourite I think, a special one from Sally, and, as usual, hard to let go of. I console myself with the knowledge that there are always more coming!

New week, new stuff

After a slow Friday it's been busy in my workroom.
If you pop into The Local Shop this week you'll find some new tea towel bags, this one included (if you're quick). A nice fat parcel of 6 has been posted. Although sometimes I find it a bit hard to say goodbye. My friend Pia found me this gem of a tea towel, it reminds me of the swap cards I had as a girl. Actually, I still have the swap cards.

Sally will have this new belt available on Georgielove very soon too.
These are made from Liberty of London tana lawn, a beautiful fine cotton that is so smooth it feels like silk. Backed with cotton pinwale cord and soft to go through any size belt loops, they are especially good with jeans, but anything else you care to wear them with too!
